What is a Forum and how is it used?
The Forum, more commonly called a Message Board, is an interactive page where site visitors can leave comments, opinions or questions, which other visitors may reply to.
What can be discussed on the Forum?
We do not limit the Forum topic or subject matter to Geoff Bodine, auto racing, the race team, or the Fan Club. However, due to problems in the past with POLITICAL discussions on our Forum, this topic will not be permitted.
Opinions expressed in this Forum are not endorsed by The Geoff Bodine Fan Club nor has their accuracy been verified. Please check HOME for official news and announcements. We reserve the right to delete any messages that do not conform to our Netiquette Rules.
What is meant by Netiquette Rules?
Simply stated, it is Network Etiquette -- the etiquette of cyberspace. In other words, Netiquette is a set of rules for behaving properly online.
The Geoff Bodine Fan Club has few Netiquette Rules for visitors using our Forum. Those that we do have are monitored quite closely and we reserve the right to delete any messages that do not conform.

Profanity - Profanity of any type will not be tolerated. |

Courtesy and Respect - "Flaming" or "violent verbal expressions of disapproval" will not be permitted. We certainly don't expect you to agree with everyone's opinions but there is a "soft" approach to disapproval without having to resort to flaming. |

Keyboard Caps Lock - Typing in all capitalized letters is not only hard to read but considered shouting and rude when used on message boards. Please use normal capitalization. Feel free to separate your paragraphs with blank lines to make your message easier to read. |
Can I put HTML tags anywhere in my posts?
No, you can not use HTML tags in any field of your message. The Fan Club Webmaster has disallowed any HTML within the Forum posting.
Can I advertise using the Forum?
No, absolutely not. The Forum is for general discussion and not intended for personal advertisements of any kind. All advertisements will be removed.
Why must my browser support 'cookies' and 'java' to post?
Most "spammers" who post their trash in our Forum will not accept cookies so it's our way of cutting down these type messages. Since implemented in December 2007, this requirement has prevented over 10,400 valid spam messages from reaching the Forum.
Our cookie will collect no information about you or your computer and is done only to test if your computer will accept cookies. We are using a 'session cookie' which is stored in temporary memory and not on your hard drive. This type of cookie is deleted automatically after your browser closes.
We send this cookie to your browser via a small 'java' script so your browser must also support JAVA.
Why didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did not show up because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Press RELOAD or REFRESH within your browser and it should appear.
When and why are Forum messages deleted?
In an attempt to help speed-up browser loading of the Forum, we will delete older messages from time to time. This "purging" of Forum messages has no set schedule. Although we try to keep the Forum page under a certain size, we will also "purge" messages in anticipation of heavy Forum activity.
