20/20 Hindsight is a big one. In 1989 Hendrick could win races, but they were still building the foundation of the dominant organization they'd be 10 years down the road. Even then, some folks still figured Hendrick was off his rocker with the multicar thing, and the best support Chevy and GM could offer were going to RCR.
One does wonder what the Geoffrey of 1999 would have said to the Geoff of 1989. But then, what other changes would that have caused?
